Tanya and Jaco at Ekudeni

So last weekend we were hanging out with Tanya and Jaco in what is one of a series of weddings coming up that we are shooting in the “wedding mile”, which is fairly unusual for us. We seem to regularly attract brides who tie the knot in the bush, the mountain, a farm, or some other unorthodox venue, but it’s nice to take a break from travelling once in a while, and besides, the venues in the Muldersdrift area are really popular for a reason.

Ekudeni is one sweet action, tranquil and just very inexplicably relaxing. They have lots of old stuff there, which I dig. We decided to venture outside the venue for the couple shoot though, as it would have been too tempting to shoot Tanya and Jaco pushing a tractor, or filling up an old beaten up rusty car with an ancient petrol pump, and that could have led to a “just married” suitcase scene etc. etc… Of course all those shots would have required selective colouring to work, and that’s just too much work for me (cough cough), so we skipped over and headed for a piece of veld somewhere nearby…and ended up shooting a scene with an old car anyway (but this one was cool, OK).

That’s the car, but this is a real moment…not the scene
