Allow me to introduce….

I got my new notebook yesterday and all is set up and ready to roll.

I’m not sure why, but I’ve always liked the name “Tatyana”…so without further ado, everyone, this is Tatyana, Tatyana, this is everyone.

On farm weddings and stolen notebooks

Cindy and I just returned this morning from quite a spectacular wedding in the middle of the Free State on a farm somewhere between Hoopstad and Bloemhof. Everything was perfect and Francois and Liezl were a blast to hang out with. They are still one of the nicest couples we have met, and from listening to the speeches it’s clear we are not the only ones to think so.

A big word up also to Adri and the crew from Your Wedding Connection in Bloemfontein who (nearly persuaded me to move to Bloem, and who…) did an absolutely amazing job in orchestrating this wedding…even the toilets were spectacular…no really, it was that good.

For those who visit this blog only for the photos and don’t see any right now…my notebook got stolen last week, so I’m in the process of sourcing a new one and get everything at the studio back up and running as per normal ASAP. Hopefully I’ll be able to post some killer shots from this weekend by Wednesday or so, I will also post some more images from last weekends wedding in Naboomspruit.

Till then, take care and remember to keep everything locked up and fully alarmed.

winter winter on the way

Cindy and I headed out to Mookgopong (Naboomspruit) early Saturday morning to photograph Martie and Cobus’ wedding at the superb Euphoria Golf Estate and Hydro Spa.
As the bluesy rock sounds of Mike Scott and the Waterboys filled our car I was forced to meditate a bit upon the coming cold months and the joys and sorrows coupled along with it. The photography is always outstanding this time of the year though. I think the mood of autumn and winter just suits my personal style better, a little moody, a bit more subtle, even a little melancholic perhaps.

I can still feel my body relax every time Mike Scott and the boys gather together the final notes in their “Red Army Blues“, it’s just that intense.

This coming weekend we are off to another distance wedding, this time in the Welkom area…really looking forward to it.
