A Zeerust wedding | Cindy & Thinus

First prize would of course have been that he was MC, second prize that I could have listened to him telling stories at the table we were seated at, but I was at least hoping that I would bump into Oom Schalk Lourens at the local Pick & Pay the next morning, or perhaps even at the Wapad Kafee where we got some wood for the kaggel in Groot Marico itself. Alas.

Bigger than life smiles, down to earth boere hospitality, bundu bashing through bush and township to find a place to photograph at, and the best pumpkin pie ever, more than made up for his absence. With Thinus’ gentle kindness and Cindy’s “love everyone to the maximum” attitude to life it was always going to be a wedding to remember and cherish heartily. Thank you for having us and being so enthusiastic about my attendance, it made me feel very special and welcome.

It was also enormously satisfying to see two couples again that I have photographed before. This blog post will be incomplete without a huge thank you to Juan-Marie and Manny, as it all started off with them. This one, this one, this one and of course the wedding you are looking at now are all directly tied to them hiring me back in 2009. Every one of these weddings has been special to us, and we really appreciate your support. Thank you guys.

Cindy has already notified me that she has a love relationship with her wedding photos, but I hope the rest of you enjoy them as well.

a true gentleman if ever there was one, assisting the flower girl with her duties
