I’m Ben, a South African wedding photographer. My work is documentary at heart, shaped by a quiet presence and a preference for what is real. I move through a wedding day unobtrusively, letting things unfold without turning them into a performance.

Portraits are guided but never stiff. More like a slow walk into good light than a photoshoot. I’m after a collection of images that carries the atmosphere of the day: real expressions, real connections and photographs you will want to live with for years.

I photograph weddings and elopements in all kinds of settings and I’m always keen to see a new location. I do have a soft spot for the African bush, though, and if you’re planning a lodge or safari wedding anywhere on the continent, there’s a very good chance I’ll just say yes without really thinking about it.
